Ethiopia v The History Channel Pt. 4/4

At Its Brightest and Most Graceless

If you’ve clicked into any of the hyperlinked timestamps I’ve provided along the way here, you’ll note that this program has a full run time of 43 minutes and 28 seconds.

The last time stamp I referenced was 12:02. That is because I am done with this.

I tried to go further and see who was the leading expert with their theory of “another, darker purpose” of the holy grounds, but I couldn’t do it.

After detecting so many issues with the presentation and tone of this episode, I have decided it isn’t worth my time and is actually damaging to my learning. Whatever it would tell me is too tinted with naivety and bias for me to think I’m learning something genuine.

Instead, I will do this: find work made in Ethiopia or by Ethiopians about this holy site. Whatever information this History Channel program could give me is not unique and can be found elsewhere and even better presented, no doubt.

At the end of this series on their episode, I just want to let my shoulders down and give sigh saying, what a fucking charade this has been. This program has totally failed to address the lives of others with the respect he would surely want of his own. This is clownishness at its brightest and most graceless.

I’m suddenly thoughtful of the title of Heidi Turner’s debut novel, “The Sacred Art of Trespassing Barefoot”.

More soon,

Trevor
