Day 041 of “Something You Protect”

The first place I went was the sea organ. It was, in fact, the whole reason why I came to Zadar. I almost didn’t have words for this place. I sat at the organ for a long time, hours.

The sound was something I’ve never known. It had the energy of announcing something, and I sat there thinking about what I could learn from a thing so strange. I was there when the ship came by. A shuttle sped passed the organ, and its wake shook the stone. It boomed and awed in the water. I felt the quake, and shouted, “yes”. This was why I came here, to be moved and surprised and to feel myself in the middle of power, the sound of departure and the sound of arrival.

I didn’t know what to expect, but I knew it when it happened. I was waiting for the ocean to sing.

More soon,

Trevor
